NSVs



The NSV (Non Scale Victories are the best ones. Daniel took the above picture on December 7th.  I had barely been able to pull the dress down over my hips and I could barely button the the jacket. Still I was excited to get the dress on. I hadn’t worn the dress in 20 years. At that point I had almost lost 70 pounds, but not quite. 



After losing another 75 pounds since December 7th, I tried it on again this last Sunday. Sunday may be the last time that I ever wear it. The tank top dress does have a tie on it. With it tied tight, it is modest if I take off the jacket. Lol. 



Look at all the extra room that I now have in the jacket with it buttoned up! I was excited. 75 pounds is a lot, but seeing something like that, really helps drive home how much it truly is.

This is a sad picture in many ways. This Is what I looked at my heaviest weight. My heaviest weight was 375 pounds. I had given up on ever losing weight because nothing I had tried had ever worked. Taking Charge

  The last 13 months I have been in survivor mode. With my Aunt’s decline of her health and then death, and then switching jobs to a high stress job working over 60 hours most weeks for the first few month, life has been crazy.  I started my journey at 375 and got down to 201. Now I am back up to 250. It is time to get things going back the right way.  Now before anyone asks, I have stayed Keto the whole time, but with my Aunt, we were trying to cook foods that she wouldn’t turn her nose up at and getting her to eat a salad based meal even twice a week was hard. Plus she didn’t like some of our favorite meals. She could not tolerate any heat (black pepper) and she didn’t like some of the meat that we liked. So finding meals that she AND my children would eat was a full time hassle. How Did I Do It?

So instead of continuing my narrative this time, I decided that I would answer two questions that I have been asked many times since my first post. 1) How much weight have I really lost? 2) How did I do it?  So far, year to date, I have lost 117 pounds out of 200. Yes my goal is to lose at least 200 pounds. I will be less than half of my starting size. If you remember, I started at 375 pounds. When I finally get down to 175, I will no longer be considered obese. At that time I will then decide if I want to drop another 10 or stay at 175. I was 225 when Daniel and I were married.  I didn’t think of myself as over weight back then, and Daniel loved me for who I was. I was a lot stronger back then compared to now as well, but soon the weight piled on.  How did I lose the weight?
